Friday Folders

Please take some time to go through the papers sent home in the Friday Folder and sign the form on the front of the folder before returning it to school on Monday.  This week you will find your child's 3rd grade OAA scores and directions to log onto Progress Book which is our online grade book.

Off to a Great Start!

The school year is off to a great start as students learn to manage their materials and change classes.  The first couple of days were a little crazy, but by day three they were showing us that they are truly responsible students.  Next week we will add a little more as we will begin weekly homework assignments and will be using their planners more.

REMINDER:  Thursday, August 29th at 6:30pm in the SLE cafeteria, will be our 4th grade curriculum night.  This information meeting is for parents only.   We encourage you to come so you can meet us and hear about the goals and expectations of 4th graders at SLE.

Welcome!!!

Hello!  My name is Heather Clements and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year.   4th graders are at such an awesome age – I just know this year is going to be great!   This will be my 15th year teaching.   Through my career I have taught children from grades K-6 with the majority of that time in grades 4-6.  I received my undergraduate degree from Xavier University where I studied both elementary and special education.   I went on to study at Wright State University were I graduated with a master's degree in educational leadership.   I have lived in the area for the last 20 years and my husband and I have two daughters ages 10 and 7.

While I have not had the opportunity to meet most of  you individually, I hope that you will able to attend the curriculum night next Thursday (Aug. 29).   At this time we will be explaining the expectations of 4th grade and how we will be dividing the instruction between the four teachers.  In your child’s planner you will find their class schedule as well as their specials schedule so you can plan for gym and art days.

If you need to contact me, my classroom phone number is 398-8050 ext. 15014 and my email address is hclements@kingslocal.net.   Please keep in mind that I may not be able to talk with you if you call during class, but please leave a message and number where you can be reached and I will return your call as soon as possible.  If it is a quick question, email is probably the best method of communication as I can respond when I have short breaks throughout the day.

I am looking forward to a great school year and partnering with you in the education of your child.
